Hello Gobblers and Shelf-sitters,
Thank you - I am grateful for all of you that read these email newsletters. I apologize and I appreciate your patience while I pushed through our Thanksgiving last week. This edition comes later than my typcial publishing schedule as a result. One of the good things of doing this myself and not for pay for a company. If I turn on paid subscriptions or donations, that will likely need to change.
Last edition saw a big jump in readership, so I am encouraged by that.
This edition will be a good one so strap in, stay tuned, and enjoy!

Book and Author Updates
3:43 AM - Awakenings of an Experiencer
My memoir has gotten a couple of 5-star reviews on Amazon now - that is incredible to me. Thank you, whoever you are! This brings the average rating to 3.9. Right now it is sitting at #111 in UFOs (Kindle Store), #129 in Occult UFOs, and #455 in UFOs (Books). That is really impressive to me, and I don’t know how that happened. There were little units moved in October. Just to be clear - this is the Kindle version product profile. The Paperback version’s rankings is another story and less positive. While I love reporting this, it is not the point of my writing this. My hope is that it serves as inspiration for others to come forward with their stories and act as a loose guide for their own path of discovery.
The book got a new, 30-second audio ad for itself. It will be used for promotional purposes on Gloria Hass’ podcast soon. You can here on the December 8th, 2024 episode of her show. Tune in to listen! The ad was written and recorded by me.
Not directly related to the book but of some relevance is a bit of cool news. Nic Hunter (paranormal podcaster) reached out to me and invited me to speak on my experiences on his show. We’ll record December 8th, and it will be aired at a later date. More on that later.
During my Thanksgiving dinner, an extended family member asked for a signature. Of course, I obliged and added my scrawling to his copy of my book. That said, he pointed out a typo in the book. That instilled in me a new push to go over the book again and flag any issues, then correct them. It likely will not be a new edition unless there are too many and changes the book greatly.
I did still plan on adding a book trailer to my site, so I will work on that next, and this will be video format for those wondering. I filmed a couple of things for it and just need to piece it together.

Dead Squirrel Mystery
A couple of days prior to Thanksgiving, I headed outside to do some cleanup in our yard. Maybe it is an ADHD de-stressing activity or an OCD compulsion. I like to check on the yard methodically before company and make sure it looks ok. In any case, it is a thing I do. It was a typical stroll outside in Wisconsin this time of year. Frigid, yet sunny. Crispy, yet warm on the face. A light dusting of icy snow still lingered in the low spots of the grass. As a Dad, it is typical for my mind to be on the 1,000,000 tasks, odd jobs, and things needing to be done. Autopilot was in full swing. A few steps into the off the deck, a shape on the ground startled me out of my inner thoughts. It was to my right beyond the back, south-west corner of our garage. Under our canoe, next to our woodpile, was an oddly still shape - that of a common gray squirrel. My heart was momentarily stunted. All other thoughts were gone. It was not moving, it was not acting like a typical squirrel. I knelt down slowly. Did it move? Closer examination revealed no obvious injuries, there was no blood, and if it had died, it had to have been very recently. With gloves, I picked it up to see the other side. The same was true. No blood or injuries. If it wasn’t so still, I could have guessed it was merely unconscious. I placed a ruler down and took a few photos. The eyes were slits and I could see white in them. The only thing that I noticed was a transparent pink fluid exited its nostril when I moved it. After long consideration, I dug a small grave and buried it. Odd? Maybe not. Animals die all the time in the wild. In fact, our yard seems to be a hot zone for animal deaths. Usually, though, we do not find them like this. I thought it was strange and moved on with more preparations for the feast happening that week. The next day, after being out once already, my kids and I came across another dead squirrel in the exact same condition. It was at the base of the tree in our yard, where we know several live within a hollow of it. We were stunned. Immediately, I suspected something out of the ordinary was going on. I kept the kids away as I didn’t want them to catch a disease, if that was the culprit. My next thought was poisoning. I contacted our local DNR office. The woman on the other end was a gem and very genuine in taking my call. They asked some questions and did seem to feel something was amiss. However, she shared with me their protocol: the DNR will not investigate a possible poisoning unless there are five or more suspicious animal deaths. I was three short. I had bagged the second one and put it on ice in the backyard. Since it was below freezing and the body had already frozen, I figured it would be fine for a couple of days. The DNR rep said that if we get to five to do what I did and get the most recent one on ice. We’d also need to ask around if anyone put poison out, as it would be hard to test for unless we knew which chemical it could be. So far, we’ve not found other dead squirrels in our yard. Maybe chalk it up to the cold weather and a few unlucky squirrels? I don’t know. I just know with our yard’s history of death of small animals that it struck me odd, and I did feel greatly for the animals. They looked so healthy!
Warning: The following images may be disturbing for some readers.

If we reach the threshold requirements of five dead squirrels, I’ll be sure to update you all.
Curious to hear your thoughts.
NUFORC News
929 - that is the number of reports NUFORC lists as ‘New’ since Aug 29 in their new post on the main site dated November 9th, 2024. That is fantastic and impressive in my opinion. It is also something that makes me laugh when compared with the number of reports boasted by the government in the congressional hearing November 13th and its aftermath. That, and it is not hidden behind a paywall. I must commend NUFORC on keeping the doors open and lights on for citizen AND military AND pilot AND law enforcement reporting. It is not biased and is agnostic. It truly is how reporting should be handled.
There is even a TOP one listed from La Crosse, WI here: https://nuforc.org/sighting/?id=183211.

The Andreasson Affair - A Quick Review
In the biography, ‘The Andreasson Affair’, we learn of the experiences of Betty and Becky Andreasson and their family in their home and on board a suspected alien craft. The events are told through the perspective of the investigators Raymond E. Fowler and his team and through the hypnosis of Betty and interviews with her daughter Becky. The family appear to have a Close Encounter of the Fourth Kind. Many hypnosis sessions and their transcripts are presented as well as other evidence in this volume to paint a portrait of one of the earliest, thorughly documented controvesies of this phenomenon.
I took special interest in this as I have taken the coursework through MUFON to become a Field Investigator. If I remember correctly from the book here and the coursework, it was written by the author of this book, Raymond E. Fowler. The methods we learned and those used in the book are very similar.
It has a rating of 4.4 stars with 351 reviews on Amazon.
In short, I think anyone interested in the topic should read this one. It is, at the very least, a good example of how ufologists ran these types of investigations in the early days. It also can show how hypnosis really works. This is a foundational example of the modern era of these strange events. There are a few key similarities with my own experiences that I had not ever seen in other stories which I found very interesting. The book itself is well crafted, typically bound and handled for this genre. The pages are black and white one plain white paper. My version was losing a bit of the protective finish on the cover as it was used. No pages fell out. The structure is very well organized and follows the chronology of the investigation. I did struggle a few times following to which Andreasson was being referred by the author. I found the diagrams to be very helpful and added credibility to the professionalism of the investigative team. There is a lot of asides in the piece that some may find distracting but I felt they were crucial and very helpful. The only criticism I have is not even of the book itself and the prose of the author as I found them really easy to digest. No, it was the eagerness of the team to unveil supposed secrets of the universe that blinded them to the suffering of Betty during several key hypnosis sessions. It seemed data and information were more important than her well-being at times. I will credit them for stopping a few times when the going was obviously too tough for her.
To be clear, this is a true story. That said, it might be very hard for many average people to believe, let alone follow.
If nothing else, it is an entertaining read.
